Plan Your Vote
Calgary Public Library and Elections Calgary have created a Plan My Vote tool to help Calgarians vote in just four simple steps. Plan My Vote helps you find your polling station and creates a customized voting plan that you can print or email to yourself to add to your digital calendar.
Who Can Vote?
To vote in the Calgary Municipal Election, you must:
Be a Canadian citizen
Be at least 18 years old on election day
Be a resident on election day
Prove your identity and address
Even if you can’t vote, you can still get involved in Calgary’s democracy! You can attend election events to meet candidates and ask questions that matter to you, or you can even apply to work at a polling station.
How to Vote

If you are already registered to vote you will receive a voter information card in the mail. Your voter information card tells you where and how to vote.
There are 3 ways to vote:
Vote on election day - Vote at your assigned polling station on election day.
Vote on advance polling days: Vote at your assigned polling station.
Vote by mail: Request a special (mail-in) ballot. Special (mail-in) ballots are sent out after a specified time. Return the package by mail, in person at the Elections Office, or at one of the secure drop boxes which will be located throughout the city by a specified time.
Where to Vote
Your voter information card shows your voting opportunities. You must vote at your designated voting station based on your home address.
